Brian & I have been out junkin & antiquing a few times since my last post.. We had great intentions of purchasing the molding for our little painting & reno we have been busy with.. He was off last Friday... We have to cross a huge scary ( well scary to me!) bridge to get to the nearest Lowes ( lumber & hardware store)
Here's a couple photos of the bridge...
This photo shows the side I live on... All those cars parked in that field aren't normally there.. The Marine Museum ( the building with the red roof) was hosting something...
Anyway... there was an accident on the bridge that friday... This is a 2 lane bridge.. traffic is at a stand still when there is an accident...
We decided to check out some local shops...& this is what we found..
A cute small cabinet.. painted a country almond... Gave it the white treatment.. :)
I couldn't decide if I should keep the doors on or take them off.. For now I guess they are staying on...
We also found this little table.. painted a creamy white that had yellowed a bit.. I wanted it whiter :) Benjamin Moore's ~ White Dove to be exact... You can see I brushed on a little White Dove so you could see the difference..
We still have not started on the molding... I have more photos to show.. I don't want to bore you.. So I'll be back soon with more! :)
Hope all of you have a Beautiful Day! ~ T ♥

You have been busy Teresa! They are very nice pieces you've picked up. And I know about FB being addictive - I'm a former Mafia Wars tragic!! Ha ha. xAnita
ReplyDeleteThanks Anita! Believe it or not.. I don't play any of those games.. ( my older son does) Hubby Brian plays farkle? whatever that is.. LOL! I just get on to say hi to faraway friends & family.. I also share recipes & photos.. or whatever is on my mind at the time.. :)

Hi Teresa! You really should play either Farm Country or Country Life - you'll be sddicted in no time! I had no intentions of playing, but Ladybug got me started and now I'm hooked!!!
ReplyDeleteHubby and I went to an antique auction on Saturday, and I thought of you! The furniture was so cheap!!! I mean, most of it wasn't white, but paint is cheap, too! I bought some pretty things that I think you may like, if you are interested let me know and I'll e-mail you when I get them on either Etsy or Ebay.
You and Brian really should come back to GA for a vacation and we could all go to the auction - wouldn't that be fun!!! ;o) Take care, Becky
Edited to say - loved my word verification thingy - it was 'flitt'!!! Like a flittering butterfly flitting from one flower to another - too cute! B.
Hi Ange! Thanks for the sweet compliments! I'm so excited to have you as a friend on facebook! I have another facebook friend from Australia.. Beverley.. She lives here though.. Across that scary bridge :) She is the sweetest Christian.. I hadn't seen her in quite awhile & recently reconnected on facebook.

Love the cabinet...it's perfect!
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa! Your blog banner looks great!!
ReplyDeleteWe have a few cabinets like that where we keep the doors
open all the time and I found its fun to sometimes even decorate
the doors! Meaning, in the kitchen, I've draped neatly folded tablecloths or large vintage monogrammed kitchen towels over the top to hang down the doors-- or, I've tapped a nail in at the top of the door (where no on would see it and it doesn't leave a mark on the door panel itself) and hung a smallish wreath, or framed pictures, etc...
So.... that long-winded diatribe was just to say: keep the doors, they can be fun, too! ;)
You guys are so lucky to have time to go junking together! Enjoy!
Ruth
I just found your blog while hopping around. I love your decorating style. I have a similar sideboard and I have thought about painting mine too. In the end, I guess I like it in its antique state to much.
ReplyDeleteMy husband (Brian) and I are in the middle of renovating a room too. You won't think it would be so time consuming, but it is???
I also think that is a very big bridge, when we have to cross it to get to the OC. We are usually in traffic and get stuck waiting right in the middle :)
Have a blessed week.
I live in Richmond...just a hop away :o)
